Due to a conflict at a birthday party, a young man in Binh Dinh bought gasoline and poured it into a beer bottle to make a petrol bomb to burn an Innova car while being hunted by his rival.

On January 3, Binh Dinh police said that Phan Van Nam (27 years old, Tuy Phuoc district) - the suspect who caused the brawl and burned the Innova car that left 3 people with severe burns 3 months ago has turned himself in. "Nam is the mastermind behind the car burning incident," said the investigating officer.

According to the investigation, early September 2017,Nam went to a karaoke bar in Phuoc Hoa commune to attend a birthday party with a group of friends, including a 20-year-old girl. While they were having fun, Ho Dong Anh (28 years old), the girl's boyfriend, brought some young men to provoke and "teach" his girlfriend a lesson because he thought she lied about taking her mother to work but actually went to a birthday party.

Nam was so angry that he beat his girlfriend. Later, Dong Anh's group came to Nam's place to take revenge that same night, but both sides only challenged each other and threw stones.

The next night, Dong Anh gathered more than 10 people, prepared many weapons and poured gasoline into 10 beer bottles to make petrol bombs, and drove two cars to Phuoc Hoa commune to search for his opponent.Hearing the news, Nam also prepared weapons, bought a case of beer to use bottles to make petrol bombs, and invited more than 20 local youths to "welcome" him.

On the night of September 3, seeing two cars, Nam's group lit matches and threw "gasoline bombs" at them. Only when the 7-seat Innova caught fire and people called the fire department did the group stop and escape. The incident caused the Innova car to burn down, and three people in the Dong Anh group suffered severe burns.

The police investigation agency has initiated a case, prosecuted the defendants for both groups of crimes: Murder, Property Destruction and Disturbing Public Order, and issued a wanted warrant for 8 fugitive suspects. So far, four suspects have surrendered.
