Ssangyong Rexton Sports pickup truck is about to launch, competing with Ford Ranger
Ssangyong Rexton Sports competes in the mid-size pickup segment, launching on January 9 with prices starting at $21,700.
Ssangyong has just released the first image of the Rexton Sports pickup truck that will be launched in Korea on January 9. Rexton Sports competes in the mid-size pickup truck segment, where there are rivals such as Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Triton, Mazda BT-50 and Chevrolet Colorado.

The Rexton Sports design is not new because it is developed based on the Rexton SUV platform, from the B-pillar to the front of the car is no different. At the back, the car bed is a bit shorter than competitors in the segment. Specific parameters will be announced by the Korean car company on the launch day.
The car is equipped with a 2.2L turbodiesel engine, producing 187 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. Optional 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission manufactured by Aisin, paired with rear-wheel drive or 4Tronic 4-wheel drive. The chassis structure is still the typical body-in-frame form of a pickup truck.
There are four trim levels on offer. The entry-level Wild trim, priced at $21,700, comes standard with heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity and six speakers.

The $24,000 Adventure trim adds 18-inch wheels, projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, Nappa leather seats, a heated steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and keyless entry.
The $25,400 Prestige trim adds a 7-inch LCD center infotainment screen, automatic headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, a power driver's seat, and speed-sensitive power steering.
The top-of-the-line $28,300 variant gets xenon headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable and cooled seats, automatic emergency braking, side airbags and curtain airbags.
Additional options include a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 360-degree camera, and a driver assistance package that includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
