Promote activities to prepare for Tet in a joyful, healthy and economical spirit

At the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Phuc Hop reported on the results of the implementation of socio-economic targets in 2017, notably the growth rate of 8.25% and total budget revenue of VND12,463 billion.

According to comrade Ho Phuc Hop, this result reflects the synchronous implementation of solutions to promote production and business development, attract investment; accelerate the progress of implementation and disbursement of capital sources; and carry out social security work in the province.

Assessing that the press agencies have made an important contribution to achieving this result, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department emphasized that the press has performed well in its function of monitoring and social criticism, actively and proactively detecting violations and shortcomings in the construction of a number of projects; destruction of protective forests; limitations and weaknesses in administrative management; violations in the implementation of policies and regimes affecting people's lives, which have received public attention, thereby helping the authorities promptly intervene to inspect and handle the situation.

Besides promoting social criticism, comrade Ho Phuc Hop suggested that press agencies continue to accompany the province, propagating to the people the policies of the Party and State, good models, and good examples.

Representatives of press agencies hope that in the coming time, the Propaganda Department will continue to proactively advise the Provincial Party Standing Committee to investigate information reflected by the press, in order to promptly have solutions.

In January, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested press agencies to focus on disseminating the study, dissemination and implementation of the resolutions of the 6th Central Conference (term XII); the results of the 4th session of the 14th National Assembly; the results of the implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW in conjunction with the 4th Central Resolution (term XII); Resolution 08 of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in environmental protection in Nghe An province in the period of 2017-2020 and orientation to 2025.

Press agencies need to step up propaganda activities to serve the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Mau Tuat in a joyful, healthy and thrifty spirit of all levels, sectors and localities; at the same time, open special pages and columns to promote major events and holidays such as: The 88th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2018); 50 years of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than in 1968.
