On the afternoon of January 4, Quy Hop District Police said that they had just arrested Vu Thi Thanh (born in 1979) and her son Hoang Vo Quang Huy (born in 2001, both residing in Tam Hop Commune) for illegally storing 38.1 kg of firecrackers originating from China.

Previously, at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, at Doan Ket hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district police discovered and caught Hoang Vo Quang Huy in the act of illegally storing 2 bags of firecrackers and 1 box of 36 firecrackers weighing 1.9 kg. Expanding the investigation, at 9:00 p.m. the same day, Quy Hop police urgently searched Hoang Vo Quang Huy's house in Dinh hamlet, Tam Hop commune and discovered and seized 62 more bags of firecrackers, 37 boxes of firecracker ribbons, and 3 boxes of 36 firecrackers with a total weight of 36.2 kg.
Huy confessed that he took the above fireworks from his biological mother, Vu Thi Thanh, to sell for profit.

Immediately afterwards, the Quy Hop Police Investigation Agency executed an emergency arrest warrant for Vu Thi Thanh to serve the investigation.
According to a police officer, Thanh initially denied and refused to admit that the fireworks were his. But when the police discovered that the fireworks were hidden in every corner of the house, such as under the bed, under the stairs, in the bathroom, in the attic, and in an abandoned warehouse, Thanh bowed his head and admitted.

At the police station, Thanh and Huy confessed that due to greed, they bought the above amount of fireworks from an unknown person to sell retail.
Currently, Quy Hop District Police are investigating and expanding the case.
