Nghe An: Honoring 72 January Stars and 5 Good Students
(Baonghean.vn) - 72 faces of 5 Good Students and winners of January Star Award from Universities and Colleges in Vinh city were honored by the Provincial Youth Union.
On the evening of January 6, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of the Nghe An Provincial Student Association solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2018), honoring the titles of "5 Good Students", "5 Good Student Collective" and awarding the January Star Award 2018 at Vinh University.
Attending the event were comrade Pham Tuan Vinh - Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, representatives of departments, branches and universities and colleges in Vinh city.

At the ceremony, the delegates reviewed the traditional day of students (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2018). Over the past 68 years, together with students across the country, generations of students from Nghe An have always been worthy of the fine traditions of their homeland: Diligence, studiousness, overcoming difficulties, and good study.
Over the years, the Vietnam Student Association of Nghe An province has always been an important political and social organization of Nghe An province students, a bridge connecting students with the Party, the State and the Youth Union; and an important educational force in schools. The Youth Union and student movement of Nghe An are always among the top in the country.

The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee hopes that all levels of the Youth Union, union members, youth, and association members will cultivate noble ideals, pure revolutionary ethics, and healthy lifestyles, further enhancing their roles and capacities in all activities, especially the movement of studying, scientific research, volunteering, and social practice skills.
At the same time, widely propagate and mobilize among its members the study of national traditions, traditions of the Union and Association; successfully carry out the tasks of the Union and school youth movements in the 2017-2018 school year.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union honored and awarded the January Star Award to 43 students and the title of 5 Good Students to 29 students. These are all excellent faces with good academic achievements and enthusiastic participation in the Youth Union and Association movements.

Also at the ceremony, the organizing committee awarded 2 first prizes to a group of students from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and contestant Dau Ngoc Luong from Nghe An College of Culture and Arts; 2 second prizes; 6 third prizes and 18 consolation prizes for performances participating in the "Search for student talents" contest that took place on the morning of January 6.

In the atmosphere of the 68th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association, welcoming the success of the 11th National Youth Union Congress, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Secretariat of the Nghe An Provincial Student Association organized a series of activities: "Searching for talented students", "Student Festival", awarding the "January Star" and the title "5 Good Students" at the provincial level 2018.
The activities took place simultaneously in all Youth Union and Student Association facilities of universities, colleges, high schools, and Continuing Education Centers from January 1 to 9, 2018.
