Yesterday (January 5), midfielder Tran Phi Son, along with midfielder Huynh Van Thanh, striker Nguyen Hai Anh, defender Sam Ngoc Duc, center back Vu Ngoc Thinh, goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Diep and striker Gonzalo Marronkle officially debuted in the new team's jersey.

Sharing about the new team, Phi Son confided: “My first impression of the new team is the very professional facilities and way of playing football. My teammates and I are eager to put on our shoes and go out to practice right away. The team will not officially gather until tomorrow and will only start practicing next week, so right now I can only stop by cafes to sit alone. I really miss my brothers, old teammates and life in Vinh city.”

Phi Son complained about homesickness on his personal Facebook.

Coming to the team led by coach Toshiya Miura, midfielder Tran Phi Son will wear the number 10 shirt as promised by his senior Le Cong Vinh. He missed home and intended to fly back to his hometown after the introduction, but acting president Le Cong Vinh encouraged and advised Phi Son to stay.

After Phi Son's heartfelt posts on his personal Facebook, his teammates also gave words of comfort to the former SLNA midfielder. And of course, there was no shortage of encouragement from his soon-to-be girlfriend, Ai Vy: "If you miss home, come back here and I'll cook for you."

When Ho Chi Minh City Club gathers, Phi Son will reunite with his close old teammates such as center back Truong Dinh Luat, defender Au Van Hoan, and striker Vu Quang Nam.

Phi Son's team is determined to win a medal at V.League 2018; the player from Ha Tinh said he will try his best to integrate into the playing style of Ho Chi Minh City Club.
