Need to pay attention to building sustainable grassroots movements

At the meeting, after listening to the reports on the activities of the associations and unions in the fourth quarter of 2017, the delegates proposed solutions to improve work efficiency, practically serve the people, especially focusing on the synchronous coordination between departments, branches, unions, and associations at all levels in performing socio-economic tasks; propagating and mobilizing people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
Specifically, delegates requested that all levels and sectors strengthen strict handling of violations in: trading and using firecrackers; trading in fake and poor quality goods, dirty food; violating traffic laws... In addition, all levels and sectors need to coordinate and support association and union activities in mountainous districts, especially in propagating legal policies, preventing illegal migration, and preventing acts of defrauding people in labor export...
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Thai Thanh Quy requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front, associations and unions to continue promoting the positive results achieved in the fourth quarter of 2017 in implementing political tasks, creating momentum and trust among the people; focusing on implementing a number of specific projects on piloting the consolidation of a number of association and union titles; the common office model...
For Tet activities for the poor, it is necessary to pay attention to the evaluation stage, survey accurate data and deliver gifts to the correct address as well as supervise the implementation.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son acknowledged the effectiveness of the work of associations and unions in the fourth quarter of 2017. Stating the key tasks of the first quarter of 2018, the Provincial Party Committee leaders requested associations and unions to focus on disseminating and implementing the Party's directives and resolutions, especially the 6th Resolution of the 12th Central Committee; and disseminating the socio-economic development tasks of the province in 2018.
Focus on taking care of all aspects to welcome the Lunar New Year 2018 for the people, visit and give gifts to the poor and families with meritorious services. Propaganda and organize healthy, economical and legal activities to celebrate the Party and celebrate the New Year. Proactively grasp the situation at the grassroots level to propagate and mobilize people, especially religious people, to participate in patriotic emulation movements, building the great national unity bloc.

Regarding the implementation of Project 01/DA-TU of the Provincial Party Committee on "Building Party cells and developing Party members in blocks, hamlets and villages without Party cells or Party members and blocks, hamlets and villages at risk of no longer having Party cells in the period of 2016 - 2020", comrade Nguyen Xuan Son suggested that associations and unions need to be flexible in the way they help, monitor and urge implementation; at the same time, pay attention to consolidating and improving the quality of activities of associations and unions at the grassroots level, especially in special areas.
“Model building has a great effect on building grassroots movements, however, there are not many sustainable models; grassroots movements in some places are not operating evenly, so the Vietnam Fatherland Front, associations and unions need to pay attention and coordinate better to implement this content” - the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee suggested.
In the fourth quarter of 2017, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations focused on disseminating the Resolution of the 12th Party Central Committee, Session 6, in conjunction with the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. Coordinated the dissemination of major holidays and anniversaries; disseminated the activities of the 4th session of the 14th National Assembly and important events of the country. Coordinated the consultation with local leaders to promptly handle complicated cases that arise, enhanced the grasp of the grassroots situation; focused on completing the annual work summary and emulation and reward work as well as the Congresses of some associations and mass organizations.
