Last night (January 9), U23 Vietnam had a practice session to get familiar with the Kunshan Sport Center field. The team will meet U23 Korea at 6:30 p.m. on January 11 at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship.

The training session of the Vietnam U23 team took place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (local time), exactly 60 minutes as stipulated in the tournament regulations. Similar to other teams participating in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, Coach Park Hang-seo continued to request closed training to help his players have maximum concentration before the tournament.

The rain in Con Son has stopped, the temperature has gradually increased but is still below 10 degrees Celsius. The U23 Vietnam players still have to maintain thermal equipment when entering the training session.

Cong Phuong, Van Toan, Duy Manh or Xuan Truong... are the players who will participate in the U23 Asian Finals for the second time in a row. Before the tournament, Cong Phuong himself promised fans that he would use his experience to instruct his juniors, in order to help the U23 Vietnam team unite and confidently face strong opponents in Group D including U23 Korea (January 11), U23 Australia (January 14) and U23 Syria (January 17).

In addition to the familiar training exercises that the players have applied quite smoothly, the Korean coach also directed the players to actively move and occupy positions on the field to better feel and orient themselves better about the playing space of Kunshan Sport Center Stadium.

Up to now, all players have shown great energy and confidence in their abilities. All injured players have fully recovered and are ready to play if selected by head coach Park Hang-seo.

After eliminating Thanh Binh, U23 Vietnam only has Duc Chinh as the only striker in the U23 Vietnam attack. If coach Park Hang-seo still uses the 3-4-3 formation, he will likely join Cong Phuong, Quang Hai (or Van Toan) as the attacking trio of U23 Vietnam. However, against a strong opponent, U23 Korea in the opening match, U23 Vietnam can choose to play with a 4-1-4-1 formation, with only Ha Duc Chinh playing as the highest striker in the U23 Vietnam attack.

At 11:30 this morning (January 10) local time, head coach Park Hang-seo will attend a press conference before the 2018 AFC U23 Championship. Meanwhile, head of delegation Duong Vu Lam and assistants and team doctors will attend a technical meeting. From 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. the same day, the team will have their final practice session to prepare for the opening match against U23 Korea, taking place at 7:30 p.m. local time (6:30 p.m. Vietnam time) on January 11.
