On January 11, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thanh Binh, spokesman for Dak Nong Provincial Police, said that Dak R'Lap District Police had issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Lam Thien Tuong for intentionally causing injury.

Tuong is the son of Mr. Lam Tri Hy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nhan Co Commune (Dak R'Lap District). Previously, this subject was accused of beating a young man to the point of hospitalization after this man argued with his father.

Previously, on the night of August 10, 2017, Mr. Tran Thanh Mau (residing in Quang Tam commune, Tuy Duc district) and some friends were standing in front of Tien Dat III Karaoke bar, Dak Wer commune (Dak R'Lap) to catch a car for a friend to go to Ho Chi Minh City.

Tuong used a gun to seriously injure a young man after he argued with his father.

At that time, a car driven by Mr. Lam Tri Hy, currently the Party Secretary of Nhan Co Commune (Dak R'Lap) entered the shop. Because some of Mr. Mau's friend's luggage and belongings were left near the gate, making it difficult for the car to enter the shop, the two sides argued. After that, Mr. Hy continued driving into the shop and took out his phone to call someone.

A few minutes later, a taxi arrived, 4-5 people got out, including a man named Teo, Mr. Hy's son, who held a gun in his hand and shot at the group of people waiting for the taxi. Mr. Mau was shot by the electric gun, fell down, was punched and kicked, and then fainted.

After the incident, Mr. Mau went to Dak R'lap District General Hospital for emergency treatment. His family then took him to Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.

Immediately after the incident, Mr. Hy confirmed that he had indeed argued with Mr. Mau's group. Afterwards, he went into the restaurant for a bit and then left. It was not until the next day that he learned about the fight.

Mr. Hy said that he heard Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (Vice Chairman of Nhan Co Commune People's Committee, who was with him) call a person named Phuc (owner of a transportation business in Nhan Co Commune) to ask if he was a relative and come up to help resolve the matter. Then Phuc's group called Lam Thien Tuong (Mr. Hy's son) up and fought with Mau's group.
