Youth union members build garbage pits to help poor households.
(Baonghean.vn) - The volunteer team of youth union members of Don Phuc commune (Con Cuong) contributed working days and materials to build garbage pits at home for poor households in Phuc village and the remote locations of kindergartens and primary schools in the area.
Funds are drawn from union dues and mobilized union members to contribute more. Sand and gravel are used locally. Up to now, 20 volunteer youth union members of Don Phuc commune have built 4 garbage pits for poor households and primary and kindergarten schools. Each garbage pit has an area of over 1m2, and the construction cost is over 500,000 VND.

Ms. Lu Thi Thuy - Secretary of the Youth Union of Don Phuc commune said: With the aim of helping people raise awareness in waste treatment, the Youth Union of the commune has established a volunteer team on the spot to help people build garbage pits at home.
In the near future, the youth union of this commune plans to build 10 more garbage pits for households in need in the commune.Building a garbage pit at home is a practical activity, contributing to raising awareness and consciousness of protecting the living environment of people.
