According to the district's agricultural department, in the last summer-autumn crop, the entire Quy Chau district planted nearly 1,800 hectares, however, the black-striped dwarf plant disease destroyed 1/3 of the area, equivalent to nearly 600 hectares. In particular, many communes had severely damaged areas, such as: Chau Phong 150/240 hectares were affected by pests, Chau Hoi 50/125 hectares.

This spring crop, according to plan, the whole district will plant 1,785 hectares of rice, mainly hybrid rice.

This year, to proactively prevent pests and diseases, using traditional experience, people have treated the soil before planting with industrial lime, spreading 300-500kg of lime per hectare. Therefore, right from the end of the summer-autumn crop, many households have contributed money to buy lime in large quantities to reduce costs. People are also supported 100% of the cost of buying pesticides to spray against black-striped dwarf pests and 15% of the cost of hybrid rice varieties.

With the above remedies from the people, along with the direction of relevant departments, it is hoped that this spring crop, farmers in Quy Chau district will not suffer losses like last year.
