Primary school students in border area dance "extremely cool" during extracurricular hours
(Baonghean.vn) - During extracurricular hours at Tam Quang 1 Primary School, in the border commune of Tam Quang, Tuong Duong district (Nghe An), teachers and students had extremely impressive group dances.

The nearly 4-minute clip records the scene of the teacher and students dancing together the graceful "lam" dances of the Thai ethnic group, combined with rhythmic jumps and clapping to the soothing Lao music called "Xao Xieng Khouang".
This clip was recorded by Ms. Vo Kim Anh - Head of the school's Youth Union and posted on her personal account, and was shared by many people.

Ms. Vo Kim Anh said: "I see that these dance performances are very popular with the children, but I didn't think it would be so popular."
Not only did the practical activity receive the approval of the online community, it also received great encouragement from the school's Board of Directors, the Department of Education of Tuong Duong district as well as local parents.
Mr. Bui Danh Vinh - Principal of Tam Quang 1 Primary School shared: “Right from the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, the school assigned the teacher in charge of the team to have cultural and recreational activities that are entertaining and educational for the students. But it is really encouraging that she and her students created a beautiful performance beyond expectations. Not only the above dance, Ms. Kim Anh also taught the students many other dances that were also very lively and joyful.”
Ms. Hoang Thi Thap, a parent of a student at the school living in Son Ha village, Tam Quang commune, confided: “My family sent their children to school to learn numbers and letters, but we were happy and surprised when the school also taught the children dances of our ethnic group. We are very proud to see our children become people who preserve and promote the cultural identities of our nation.”
It is known that in the 2017-2018 school year, the Department of Education of Tuong Duong district launched many teaching and learning movements combined with healthy recreational activities for teachers and students in the whole district. With the goal of teaching knowledge combined with training skills for students, educating them to be aware of preserving and promoting the quintessence of national culture.
