The Vietnamese car company will use some details developed by BMW to mount on the first two models.

The new cooperation is in the form of a framework contract, depending on the reality, this company will use some details developed by BMW.The design will use two Italdesign models including a sedan and an SUV.

In addition, two concept versions are planned to be launched in 2018 and are manufactured by Pininfarina (Italy) with a contract of 5 million USD. Concept is a product that looks like the real thing from the body, interior, chassis, engine, gearbox but is not a mass production version. The two concept cars are expected to be launched at the Paris Motor Show in October and in Vietnam in December.

The sedan will go into production and will be designed by Italdesign.

Buying back the copyright of some details to develop new cars is a common practice in the four-wheel industry. Companies with potential but no experience in technology will take shortcuts to create models like other companies. Safety technologies such as three-point belts, ABS, electronic body stability control... were previously invented by individual companies, then other companies reused or researched to expand.

Before BMW, Mr. Vuong's car company said it cooperated with Bosch, Siemens, Magna Steyr, AVL... to make cars. The company is using the method of ordering all the details from different manufacturers around the world, then synthesizing them into a complete car. This method saves time, research costs and is especially suitable for companies without a background in automotive or mechanical technology.According to plan, Vinfast will sell its first cars by 2019.
