Dam Vinh Hung plays the role of the Jade Emperor in the Tet Comedy Show.

The Vĩnh Long Táo Quân (Kitchen Gods) show for the Spring Festival of Mậu Tuất 2018, themed "Rescuing the Jade Emperor," brings together a star-studded cast of the most popular actors in the Southern entertainment market. However, only Đàm Vĩnh Hưng has been revealed so far.

With his adventurous spirit and serious approach to art, Dam Vinh Hung will not just make a brief appearance as a guest singer; instead, he will embody a character considered the soul of the play. Dam Vinh Hung shared that when he accepted the role, he specifically requested that his character, the Jade Emperor, have a truly unique story.

The male singer shared:“The Jade Emperor is a character who must be very majestic, but Hung's Jade Emperor will also be very down-to-earth, very approachable and realistic. He will be the most different Jade Emperor ever, from his demeanor and tone of voice to his costume.”

When asked about his first time doing something so daring, Dam Vinh Hung frankly shared:"How could I not be brave when, historically, renowned artists like Uncle Bao Quoc and Anh Hoai Linh have been perfectly suited to playing the Jade Emperor? I'm just a singer, so I had to think carefully before deciding to accept the role."

Dam Vinh Hung also said that since he was a child he has loved the Tet Comedy Show and had always wished to participate in such programs."To be honest, I've often dreamed of being in the 'Tao Quan' (Kitchen Gods) show. Perhaps only in Vietnam can you find such an interesting program on New Year's Eve, a comedy show that offers meaningful and humane critical humor."

Dam Vinh Hung has showcased his acting talent numerous times in various live shows. With that experience, coupled with his enthusiasm and dedication to his first time participating in the Tet Comedy Show, Dam Vinh Hung promises to deliver an impressive portrayal of the Jade Emperor, capable of creating a sensation during the 2018 Tet season.
