British general offers advice to deal with Russia

“What should we do differently? First, I think we need to remember that Russia values strength and those who dare to confront it,” General Carter said in a speech at the Royal United Services Institute. “The original plan for Ukraine was to gain a lot of territory. However, Russia was surprised by Ukraine’s resistance and was forced to hold back. We need to identify Russia’s weaknesses and develop an asymmetric response to them.”
General Carter proposed building institutions in neighboring countries that could help them resist external pressure and reduce Western countries' dependence on Russian energy supplies.
The British Chief of the General Staff also stressed the importance of protecting cyberspace, finding Britain's vulnerable points against malicious intentions and fake news from Russia.
General Carter stressed the importance of maintaining NATO's presence in Western Europe and continuing to improve the military alliance's capabilities.
