Hyundai Elantra Sport turbo engine, price 729 million in Vietnam
The 2018 Elantra Sport has a higher price than current versions, a different design and a 1.6 Turbo GDi engine with 204 horsepower.
The sporty version of Elantra was introduced by Hyundai Thanh Cong on January 25, upgrading some design details but most importantly the new 1.6 Turbo engine, similar to the Tucson. Capacity 204 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and torque 265 Nm at 1,500-4,500 rpm. 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.The car has 3 driving modes: eco, normal and sport.
The exterior has new features to make a difference. The hexagonal chrome grille has strong ribs and red Turbo lettering.Bi-xenon headlights combined with LED daytime running lights. 3D LED taillights.

The Sport version is equipped with a body kit that makes it easily distinguishable from the regular versions. The exterior highlights are the pair of chrome exhaust pipes and the 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels.
Black interior with contrasting red stitching combined with faux carbon and chrome plastic details. Leather seats with seat heating function. 7-inch screen displays images from the rear camera and integrates navigation maps. Entertainment system supports MP3/AUX/USB/Bluetooth/FM Radio with 6 speakers.
Elantra Sport has a smart key with Start/Stop button, 10-way power driver's seat, 4-way adjustable steering wheel with integrated gear shift paddles, remote control trunk. The car is also equipped with automatic light and rain sensor, automatic anti-fog windshield, dual-zone air conditioning, auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Elantra Sport uses a multi-link independent rear suspension instead of a torsion bar like the standard Elantra. The chassis system has more than 51% AHSS high-strength steel components. Safety system with 7 airbags, ABS anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, emergency brake assist, electronic balance, body control, hill start assist, traction control, parking assist with 8 front and rear sensors, tire pressure sensor.
Elantra Sport is also assembled in Vietnam like the regular versions. The car is sold with 6 optional colors including black, white, silver, sand yellow, beige, red. The suggested retail price is 729 million VND. The three other current versions of Elantra include Elantra 1.6 MT, Elantra 1.6 AT and Elantra 2.0 AT priced at 549 million, 609 million and 659 million VND respectively.
With the equipment on the new Sport version, Hyundai Thanh Cong wants to create a car that competes with sporty rivals in the segment such as Honda Civic and Ford Focus. The price of 729 million is much cheaper than the Civic at 898 million and also lower than the Focus at 797 million.
