Maid who abused her employer's child gets 15 months in prison

On January 26, the People's Court of Phu Ly City (Ha Nam) opened a first-instance criminal trial against defendant Nguyen Thi Han, (59 years old, residing in Yen Tho commune, district of Y Yen, Nam Dinh province) for the crime of "Torturing others".

Between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. and between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. from November 20 to 22, 2017, when Ms. Phuong left the house to take care of personal matters, Nguyen Thi Han used her hands to hit the child many times on the head, neck, and body, and used her hands to throw the child into the air many times, endangering the child's life.
At the trial, after analyzing the details, the jury found that the defendant had confessed honestly and repented of her crime. The jury sentenced defendant Nguyen Thi Han to 15 months in prison for the crime of “Torturing others”./.
