The South Korean president praised the sportsmanship of the Vietnamese U23 team.

The South Korean president today praised the true sportsmanship of the Vietnamese U23 football team on his personal Facebook page.

"The Vietnam U23 team, under the leadership of coach Park Hang-seo, finished as runners-up in the AFC U23 Asian Championship. The image of the players giving their all until extra time in the snowstorm showed true sportsmanship," South Korean President Moon Jae-in wrote on his personal Facebook page.

President Moon shared that coach Park's hard work over the past three months, leading the Vietnamese national team to the pinnacle of Asian football, has brought joy to both him and the Korean people.

""South Korea and Vietnam have become even closer friends, and I am pleased about that. Congratulations to coach Park and the achievements of the Vietnam U23 team," President Moon wrote.

The Vietnam U23 team lost 1-2 to Uzbekistan in the final today and finished as runners-up.In the decisive championship match, Vietnam faced numerous difficulties, especially a snow-covered pitch and freezing temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius.Coach Park said after the match that, given the circumstances, the players performed well and held their ground for most of the game, which made him proud. "They showed a great spirit," Coach Park emphasized.
