MOBi-ONE is an electric vehicle that can carry 2-4 passengers or cargo weighing more than 200 kg over a distance of nearly 100 km to many locations, including airports and urban centers. Its vertical take-off and landing design allows the taxi to take off like a helicopter, then rearrange its wings and fly like a normal plane at a maximum speed of more than 400 km/h.

Passengers can enjoy high-speed internet and peace of mind with V2X collision avoidance and safety information systems. MOBi-ONE is capable of learning and following the pilot, but for now, a pilot will still be on board each flight to ensure safety.

MOBi-ONE will provide a comfortable, smooth, clean, and affordable on-demand air mobility solution, according to Jon Rimanelli, CEO of AirSpaceX. “The truth is that everyone thinks transportation is a problem that needs to be solved. Autonomous vehicles have not been focused on reducing traffic and emissions,” Rimanelli said.

In addition to being a flying taxi, MOBi-ONE can be used for medical, evacuation, research or surveillance purposes.MOBi-ONE will be ready for launch in 2020, Rimanelli said.

AirSpaceX plans to launch 2,500 flying taxis by 2026 in 50 major US cities, according to JP Yorro, the company's chief commercial officer."MOBi development will require large capital outlays, but developing air mobility services could generate billions of dollars for the economy", Yorro said.

AirSpaceX believes that MOBi-ONE will help reduce ground traffic and shorten travel times. In addition to AirSpaceX, a number of other companies are also researching and developing flying taxis, including Airbus, Boeing, Uber and NASA..
