(Baonghean.vn) - Six months ago, Phan Cong Thao (residing in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An) bought firecrackers and stored them at home to make his own firecrackers to sell during Tet for profit.

Through understanding the situation and using professional measures, the 118P Task Force discovered that Phan Cong Thao had suspicious signs of producing firecrackers. On January 26, the Task Force determined that Thao would sell firecrackers, so they decided to break up the task force.
After a period of ambush, at 7:00 p.m. the same day, the task force of the Special Investigation Committee discovered Phan Cong Thao selling fireworks to two subjects in his yard, so they raided and caught him red-handed.
While Phan Cong Thao was struggling with the investigators, the two people who bought the fireworks escaped. Evidence seized at the scene included 20 self-rolling fireworks, weighing a total of 6.8 kg. During an emergency search of Phan Cong Thao's house, the authorities seized an additional 18.2 kg of various types of fireworks and 1.5 kg of fireworks powder.

At the investigation agency, Phan Cong Thao confessed: in June 2017, he went to Vinh City to buy 3 kg of firecrackers from an unknown person and brought them home to store. After that, he prepared tools and paper to make firecrackers. Waiting for the end of the year, Thao took out the firecrackers and made 25 kg of firecrackers himself, with the intention of selling them for profit. When he sold the first batch of firecrackers, he was discovered and arrested by the authorities.
Currently, the case is under further investigation.
