Farmers in mountainous communes compete in spring planting in 2018.
(Baonghean.vn) - On January 30, at Cam village, Cam Lam commune (Con Cuong), the 2018 spring rice planting competition was held.
This year's competition has 4 teams, including members of the Farmers' Association, Women's Union, Youth Union, and Trade Union of the Commune People's Committee. Each team consists of 8 members, including 4 men and 4 women, participating in the rice planting competition on an area of over 500m2.2within 60 minutes. The requirements for the competing teams are to plant quickly, straight, and with the correct technique, ensuring a density of 40-45 clumps/m2, from 1-2 shoots/clump.

The contest was held to promote solidarity and honor the rice cultivation profession in the Western region of Nghe An, and at the same time apply scientific and technical advances to agricultural production. Through the contest, Cam Lam commune strives to bring over 60% of hybrid rice area into mass production in the area.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the Women's Union, the second prize to the Commune Farmers' Association; the Trade Union and Youth Union shared the third prize.
