Thanh Chuong: Seized nearly 700kg of animal organs of unknown origin

Receiving information from the public, through patrol and control work at 7:00 p.m. on January 30, 2018, at Km 44+ 600 on National Highway 46, in the area of ​​block 1 of Thanh Chuong town, the Traffic Police Team of Thanh Chuong district police signaled to stop and check the Huyndai truck, license plate 37S - 0021.

Upon inspection, the authorities discovered that the vehicle was carrying 7 Styrofoam boxes filled with various types of pig skin, fat and organs with a total weight of 480 kg and a 50 liter pot containing pig blood. All of them were foul smelling and had no documents to prove their origin.

The owner of the vehicle and the goods owner is Duong Van Cuong (born in 1987), residing in Yen Truong hamlet, Yen Son commune, Do Luong district. Cuong stated that the goods were imported from Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province, Dien Chau district and Do Luong and were on their way to Vinh for sale when they were arrested.

After seizing the above goods, the Traffic Police coordinated with the Thanh Chuong District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station to make a record of destruction and handle the people and vehicles according to the provisions of law.

According to the leader of the Thanh Chuong Traffic Police Team, on the morning of January 30, in block 9 of Thanh Chuong Town, the unit also seized 180 kg of pig organs transported on 3 motorbikes on the way to Vinh for consumption.

From now until Lunar New Year, the unit will increase patrols and controls to ensure traffic safety and confiscate and destroy fireworks and goods of unknown origin to ensure people enjoy a safe New Year.
