Killed someone for being told to strut
Angered when the group of young men said he was strutting and attacked first, Sang pulled out a knife to fight back, stabbing one person to death.
The verdict of the Ha Tinh People's Court on January 30 determined that at around 10 p.m. on July 4, 2017, Bui Quang Duc, Tran Huu Quoc (29 years old), Nguyen Xuan Ngoc (28 years old, all residing in Cam Xuyen district) and Le Xuan Cuong (19 years old) went to a restaurant in Cam Xuyen town to drink. There, Duc's group had a conflict with Nguyen Truong Sang's group (24 years old) sitting at the next table, but no fight broke out.

After the party, Duc's group got in the car and left. Sang's group also went to a nearby karaoke bar to continue their fun. Seeing Sang passing in front of his car, Duc thought that Sang was acting arrogantly, so he got out of the car and provoked them, inviting others to attack him with weapons.
Sang pulled out a knife to fight back, causing Cuong to be stabbed in the neck and back, and died after three days in emergency care. Quoc was injured in the thigh.
Seeing his friend seriously injured, Duc ran back to the car, pulled out an AK gun and tried to shoot Sang, but was stopped. Before leaving the scene, Duc fired two shots into the air and turned himself in on July 8, 2017.
Judging that the defendants' actions were contemptuous of the law, disrupting public order and security, causing insecurity among the people, applying the 1999 Penal Code, the court sentenced Sang to 5 years in prison for murder, Duc to 32 months in prison for illegal possession of military weapons and disturbing public order. Quoc and Ngoc each received 12 months in prison for disturbing public order.
