According to the indictment, at around 2 p.m., Bui Thi Hang (born in 1986), residing in Chau Loc commune, went to the house of Tran Thi Ky (born in 1949) in Son Thanh hamlet, Tam Hop commune to play. Seeing a number of people including Ho Thi Oanh, Dau Van Long, Do Van Hieu, Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Thuong (Mrs. Ky's nieces visiting her seriously ill husband) and Chu Thi Ha playing "three-card" cards, Hang also joined in. At that time, the above-mentioned people only played 10-20 thousand dong per game.

At about 2:30 p.m. the same day, Ho Xuan Duan, Nguyen Van Vuong, Vu Quang Anh, Tran Ngoc Cuong, Ho Thi Oanh, and Dau Van Long came to Mrs. Ky's house. When they heard someone starting to play dice, Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Thi Thuong, and Chu Thi Ha stopped playing cards.

Do Van Hieu took a card and cut it into 4 pieces, then together with Hang, Vuong, Duan, Cuong, Hieu, Oanh, Anh and Long, they switched to gambling by shaking the dice, in which Long was the one shaking the dice and then handed it over to Hieu, Vuong and Cuong to take turns "weighing the money". The lowest bet was 10 thousand dong, the highest was unspecified.

Then Ho Van Sau, Ho Canh Hai, Nguyen Thi Canh, Phan Thanh Lam, Tran Van Tung, Nguyen Thi Oanh, and Nguyen Van Te went to Mrs. Ky's house and gambled together. Here, to have money to gamble, Tran Van Tung pawned a silver necklace for Mrs. Ky for 1 million VND. Knowing that Tung pawned the property to gamble, Mrs. Ky still accepted the pawn and gave Tung 500,000 VND in advance.

During the gambling, some winners paid Ms. Ky 60 thousand dong in betting money. The above subjects gambled until 4:30 p.m. the same day when they were discovered and caught red-handed by Quy Hop police.

The subjects Duẩn, Vượng, Hải, Bảo, Hằng and a number of others were arrested, and 4,490,000 VND in silver, 1 porcelain bowl, 1 porcelain plate and 4 dice were seized. 900,000 VND was left behind by the fleeing subjects, and 1.2 million VND and a number of other properties were seized from Duẩn. The total amount of evidence in this case was more than 6.8 million VND.

It is known that the defendants Do Van Hieu, Nguyen Van Vuong, and Nguyen Van Te had previous convictions for gambling. Defendant Ho Van Bau was sentenced to 19 years in prison for murder in 2001 and was pardoned on August 30, 2010.
