Standing Provincial Party Committee meets with retired provincial leaders

At the meeting, after reporting on some socio-economic development results of Nghe An province in 2017 with many positive changes, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed that these results were achieved thanks to the attention, concerns, and active comments of former provincial leaders through the periods for the current leaders in the work of leading and managing socio-economic development, consolidating national defense - security and Party building, contributing to the development of Nghe An.
Sharing about the key tasks of the province in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that former leaders of the province through the periods, based on the knowledge and experience gained through the leadership process, will continue to contribute ideas and share solutions and policies to promote Nghe An to become more and more prosperous and civilized.

At the meeting, former provincial leaders expressed their joy and excitement at the development of the province, as well as the high spirit of solidarity and collaboration among the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the entire Provincial Party Committee. The former provincial leaders also shared their concerns and gave the province advice on many specific issues.
Comrade Nguyen Ba - former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, said that to create real motivations to increase revenue and improve people's income, the province needs to attract large projects. To do so, the province needs to continue researching to have mechanisms and policies in attracting investment that are strong enough and attractive enough.

Former Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ba also raised concerns that with a special province like Nghe An - the homeland of the revolution, there are both ethnic mountainous areas equal to the lowland areas, and coastal areas equal to the mountainous areas, especially with 3 extremely difficult districts; therefore, the province needs to focus on researching and proposing to the Politburo a special mechanism to continue to open up a new mechanism for Nghe An after summarizing Resolution 26 of the Politburo on Nghe An.

For former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Xuan Tuy, the issue that he was interested in and proposed to the province was thoughts related to the work of calling for investment attraction from outside and promoting the province's internal potential for development.
Presenting the general ideology and mentality among the people, which is conservative, soon satisfied with an average life, not daring to invest in developing production, business, and changing the way of doing things; comrade Nguyen Xuan Tuy suggested that the province should pay attention to removing this ideology.
Some opinions participating in the meeting also suggested that the province should continue to pay attention to building a streamlined apparatus that operates effectively and efficiently; take care of building a team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees, especially building a team of successor leaders and managers at all levels, who are both competent and have good moral qualities and lifestyles; have solutions to inspect, supervise, and manage cadres and party members; pay attention to mass mobilization work, especially in special and difficult areas...

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh expressed his respect and sincere thanks for the feelings, attention, concerns and suggestions for the province from former provincial leaders of different periods.
Agreeing with the views and concerns of retired provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary clearly affirmed the direction that the province is focusing on, which is the determination to attract potential investors and large projects that are meaningful in leading the development of the provincial economy. Along with selecting good investors, the province is also determined to direct the implementation of strict planning management.
In the field of education, to ensure stable development in quality and at the same time expand the scope, the Provincial Party Committee is also assigning the Provincial People's Committee to direct the construction and development of key schools in localities to promote learning, in addition to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, through focusing on investing in building a team of good quality teachers, creating separate mechanisms and policies, and at the same time promoting the traditions of each school.

Sharing the province's determination in streamlining and streamlining the apparatus for effective and efficient operation, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh also raised concerns when the general psychology of society is still heavily focused on wanting to work in state agencies; this really puts great pressure on the state apparatus. Therefore, in the coming time, along with solutions, principles, regulations, promoting the attraction of investment projects, creating more jobs for workers, the province will strengthen propaganda, mobilization, creating changes in awareness, social psychology, not necessarily having to work in agencies in the political system.
The Provincial Party Secretary also affirmed that the province will strengthen inspection and supervision of cadres and party members and resolutely handle cadres who intentionally violate regulations; along with that, it is ready to help cadres correct their shortcomings if during the working process, due to lack of understanding or haste, they make mistakes.
Based on the suggestions of retired provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh promised to continue to study and incorporate them into the leadership and management process of the province; at the same time, he hoped that retired provincial leaders would continue to pay attention and support for the common development of the province.
