Nghe An: 64 fires occurred in one year, causing damage of about 18 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the report of the Provincial Steering Committee for Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue, in 2017, Nghe An had 64 fires, causing property damage of about 18 billion VND. Of these, there were 13 forest fires, damaging 7.81 hectares of protective forest; there was an explosion that led to a fire, causing property damage of about 3 billion VND.

In 2017, nearly 7,000 establishments and vehicles were inspected for fire prevention and fighting, 697 administrative violation records were drawn up, and nearly 1 billion VND was paid to the state budget.
The provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting Police dispatched over 200 fire trucks and nearly 2,000 police officers to promptly and effectively rescue victims, minimizing the damage caused by the fires. The estimated value of saved assets is up to hundreds of billions of dong.

In the rescue work, the functional sectors, especially the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Fire and Rescue Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command, mobilized over 26,000 officers and soldiers, hundreds of motorbikes and high-speed boats of all kinds to participate in responding to and overcoming storms No. 2 and No. 10, tornadoes, tropical depressions, and promptly organized rescue for incidents and accidents occurring in the province.
