Nghe An youth smashed car window, stole 100 million VND, went to Hanoi to play games
(Baonghean.vn) - After breaking the window of a car in Vinh City, Nghe An, stealing a stack of 100 million VND, a 24-year-old man took a taxi to Hanoi to play games, but was tracked down by the police.
On February 12, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Cuong, Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police, said that he had prosecuted and temporarily detained Phan Khanh Vu (24 years old, residing in Nghi Xa commune, Nghi Loc district) for 3 months for theft of property.

According to the case file, one day at the end of January 2018, Mr. Hung (35 years old), the owner of a Lancuiser with Nghe An license plate, went to Vinh City Police to report that while he had left his car overnight on Mai Hac De Street (Vinh City), a thief broke the window and stole his handbag containing 100 million VND and his personal documents.
Vinh City Police investigated, extracted security camera images from the scene to identify the suspect, and simultaneously used professional measures to narrow down the subject.
After collecting documents, the investigation team identified the suspect as Phan Khanh Vu (24 years old, residing in Nghi Xa commune, Nghi Loc district), but at this time Vu had left Nghe An...
Following the criminal's trail, on the night of January 31, the Vinh City Police task force arrested Vu at an Internet cafe in Bac Tu Liem District (Hanoi), much to his surprise.
At the investigation agency, Vu admitted to being the perpetrator of the case. He spent almost all of the 100 million VND he got on games.
Expanding the investigation, the police determined that at the end of November 2017, while working as an employee at a car wash in Dak Lak province, Vu stole 50 million VND from a car owner to wrap money in the seat. This amount was also spent by him.
Vinh City Police said Phan Khanh Vu is addicted to games and has no stable job.
Currently, Vu has been extradited to Nghe An, Vinh City Police are further clarifying the act of property destruction.
