Tet passenger bus overturned, two people died
Two people died and 11 others were seriously injured in a bus accident on the Nam Hai Van bypass (Da Nang) this morning.
At about 5:15 a.m. on February 12, a passenger bus carrying 29 people was traveling on the Nam Hai Van bypass from Da Nang to Hue. When approaching the connecting section with the La Son - Tuy Loan highway (under construction), the bus suddenly overturned. Passengers pHai escaped through the side window of the car and climbed back down onto the street.
“While I was driving, I felt the car swerve to the left and flip twice. When all the passengers were taken out, two people were dead and more than 10 were seriously injured."Mr. Tran Duc Vu, the victim in the car, said.

The above bus was rented by someone to carry passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Quang Binh, mainly workers returning home for Tet.
Authorities transferred 11 victims to Da Nang General Hospital for emergency treatment. Passengers' belongings scattered at the scene were temporarily gathered by locals and police in an empty lot.
Upon learning of the accident while on a business trip in Da Nang, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho arrived at the scene and directed the National Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City to immediately arrange a 30-seat vehicle to take the victims home for Tet, and provide 5 million VND for each deceased person and 2 million VND for each injured person..

The accident sceneis the joint between the bypass and the highway bridge ramp.People reported to Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tho about many car accidents happening here, mainly due to the lack of necessary warning signs.
“I have assigned the Da Nang Department of Transport to handle this immediately. First, we must install warning signs and reflective dividers on the curved road so that vehicles can see from a distance, especially at night,” said Mr. Tho.
However, according to Lieutenant Colonel Le Nho Tan, Head of Hoa Nhon Traffic Police Station,Evidence at the scene showed that the driver drove onto the wrong road leading to the bridge, then turned onto the bypass and encountered a small ditch, causing the car to overturn.
"The driver was unfamiliar with the road and was somewhat subjective, because this road had warning signs," said Lieutenant Colonel Tan.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
