(Baonghean.vn) - After failing to commit suicide by lighting explosives, Nhan fled to Quang Ninh to make a living. On the third day of Tet, he returned to his hometown to visit his mother and surrendered.

On February 19, the Criminal Investigation Department (PC52) of Nghe An Police said that it had successfully persuaded Bui Van Nhan (born in 1983), residing in Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district (Nghe An), who was wanted for the crime of illegal possession of explosives, to surrender.

According to police documents, in early April 2016, while working as a hired farmhand in Quy Hop district, Bui Van Nhan picked up a plastic bag containing two sticks of industrial explosives, two detonators, and a piece of slow-burning wire. Nhan brought the explosives home to hide.

On April 11, 2016, due to a conflict in family life with his wife, Nhan intended to use the explosives mentioned above to commit suicide. However, his father-in-law discovered it in time and successfully grabbed a stick of explosives.

At this time, Nhan still had a detonator with a fuse attached to it, which he used the cigarette he was smoking to light. The explosion caused Nhan to be seriously injured and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment...

The police then initiated a case and prosecuted Bui Van Nhan for "Illegal possession of explosives". However, while being treated for his injuries, Nhan quickly fled the area.

In July 2016, Quy Chau District Police issued a wanted notice for suspect Bui Van Nhan for "Illegal possession of explosives". The wanted police (PC52) of the provincial police got involved to track down his whereabouts, and at the same time, influenced his family to call on the suspect to surrender to enjoy leniency under the law.

On the afternoon of February 18 (the third day of Tet), PC52 received information that Bui Van Nhan was present at his mother's house in Tam Hop commune (Quy Hop district), so they organized a verification. That same afternoon, after being persuaded by police officers and relatives, Nhan surrendered and confessed to his crime.

According to the investigation agency, after committing the crime, Bui Van Nhan fled to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) to apply for a job as a worker at a company. During this time, he cut off contact with his relatives and worked hard to make a living. The subject said that during the time he was hiding from the law, he regretted his crime and thought about turning himself in...

On February 17, thinking of her old mother celebrating Tet in the countryside, Nhan decided to visit and had no intention of running away anymore.
