Faced with the choice between life and death when infiltrating a gun trafficking ring in Hai Phong, Captain Quan chose to complete his mission.

One day before Lunar New Year 2018, receiving a phone call from former captain Nguyen Truong Tam (Tam "Dai Bang"), Mr. Nguyen Quoc Quan immediately appeared and excitedly recalled his time as a criminal police officer of H88.

In 1989, heH88 soldier nicknamed "Thief" was assignedinfiltrate the budding military weapons trafficking ring in Hai Phong.

After connecting the leads, a junior in the ring suddenly recognized Quan as a police officer. Faced with that situation, he had to admit his origins but created a story that he had "slipped out" of the industry.

Knowing that his subordinates were exposed, Tam "Dai Bang" decided to let his officers join the project because he believed that Quan "Trom" had the ability to change situations..

With the time to solve the case running out, Lieutenant Quan continued to wander around tea shops, trying to find a way to meet up with the group of suspected arms dealers. Meanwhile, because they already suspected Quan, even though they contacted him, the suspects did not mention the sale of weapons. To get closer to the arms dealer group, Lieutenant Quan lied that he had just committed a robbery and wanted to treat them.

In subsequent meetings, he invited them to join in robbing some people who had "slipped the chain". However, they did not dare to participate. However,The act of playing hard to get made Quan "Trom" gradually gain the sympathy of the group. One day, the leader, Huong, whispered: "Okay, if the boss has any needs, I will solve them."

According to the agreed strategy, after placing the order, Quan announced "the purchasing contact no longer needs it".Seeing Quan refuse, they turned to plead: "We have the goods, including the garlic (guns), but there is a problem so we can't get them yet, we only have three eggs (grenades)."After a few minutes of hesitation, Quan pretended to agree and was told by Huong: "Don't worry, wherever you make an appointment, we'll bring it there."Captain Tam "The Eagle" chose a fish noodle shop near the city's Opera House as the location for action.

One early morning in late 1989, H88 scouts posed as customers sitting around a fish noodle shop. Quan "Trom" and a teammate posed as buyers, waiting for Huong to bring the grenades over.

At 7am, Huong carried a straw bag disguised with fresh fish on top and crossed Binh ferry to the meeting point. When they met, Quan "Trom" was ordered to leave the scene so Huong could make the transaction. After being asked twice to see the goods, Huong finally showed the detective the grenades in the bag. Tam "Dai Bang" and the task force immediately rushed in to control Huong and fired shots into the air.

The identity of the grenade dealer was identified as Nguyen Van Huong (23 years old), who had a previous conviction for theft of socialist property. Searching Huong's house, the authorities seized many machetes.Huong's arrest forced the gang of gangsters in Hai Phong to go into hiding for many years afterwards.

In 1990, Huong was sentenced by the Hai Phong People's Court to seven years in prison for illegally manufacturing, storing, using, trading or appropriating military weapons and military technical equipment (Article 95 of the 1985 Penal Code).

After H88 disbanded, Mr. Quan continued to serve in the industry for many years and then left the People's Armed Forces with the rank of Captain.
