(Baonghean.vn)- The foggy weather at sea caused this person to lose his way and get lost at sea all night, causing his family to suspect him missing.

On the afternoon of February 21, local authorities of Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu) said that fisherman Vu Viet Dung (52 years old), residing in Dai Bac village, had returned after a day and night of being missing.

As reported, at 2:30 p.m. on February 20, Mr. Dung drove a motorboat (90 horsepower) to the sea about 4 nautical miles from the mainland to pull the net. At about 4 p.m., the family called the phone number but could not reach it. Some fishermen who went to pull the net at the same time as Mr. Dung called home and were told that Mr. Dung had not returned yet.

Some fishermen fishing near the shore in the Quynh Long sea area (Quynh Luu district, Nghe An) discovered some nets and fishing equipment but no people or boats or rafts.

The family asked nearby fishing vessels to search but could not find them, then the family notified search agencies to request assistance.

At noon on February 21, Mr. Dung drove the boat back to the coast of Dai Bac village - the original departure point, in normal health.

Mr. Dung said that after leaving the dock to pull the net, due to the thick fog that obscured his vision, he lost his direction because he did not have a GPS on the boat, and got lost near the coast of Dien Hai commune. At this time, his phone ran out of battery so he could not contact him. He waited until noon on February 21, when the fog cleared, to re-orient himself and steer the boat back to the dock.

As soon as Mr. Dung returned home, local authorities and people came to visit his health and find out the reason why he went missing at sea.
