Defeating Roma, Shakhtar takes advantage before the second leg

With a 2-1 win over AS Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk have gained a slight advantage in the race for a ticket to the quarter-finals.

Playing at home and facing a not-so-strong team like AS Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk is determined to win to create an advantage before the second leg.

However, it was the visitors who dominated the first half. After many missed opportunities, AS Roma finally opened the scoring in the 41st minute. In-form player Cengiz Ünder scored after an assist from Dzeko.

After conceding a goal, Shakhtar rose strongly in the second half with reasonable personnel adjustments by coach Paulo Fonseca. In the 52nd minute, Ferreyra skillfully handled the ball before finishing accurately, equalizing 1-1 for the Ukrainian representative.

In the 71st minute, Fred took a technical free kick, sealing an impressive comeback for Shakhtar Donetsk, giving them a slight advantage before the second leg at the end of March./.
