Khai Ha - the beauty of Spring in Thanh Chuong
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent years, the custom of planting and lowering the Tet pole has gradually disappeared in the province. However, in Thanh Chuong district, many places still preserve the beauty of this custom.
As an ancient land, Thanh Chuong people have performed all the traditional New Year rituals in the old way, but the old Khai Ha ceremony is only performed in some communes where there are still temples to worship Thanh Hoang or temples to worship human gods.

Typically, the ceremonies are held very solemnly at Ba Chua Che Temple in Hanh Lam Commune and Cao Son Cao Cac Temple in Dong Van Commune.
In these places, people have come to offer incense and flowers to pray for fortune since the days before and during Tet, but these rituals only take place sporadically and without organization.

Starting from the afternoon of the 6th day of Tet, the leaders of the communes and the new relic management board officially took charge of the ceremony. The ceremonies included the announcement held in the evening of the 6th day and the thanksgiving ceremony held throughout the 7th day of Tet with two parts: ceremony and festival attracting thousands of participants.

In order to serve the spiritual and cultural activities of the people, in recent years, the Party Committee, the authorities, departments and the people have invested in upgrading and renovating many relics. Thanks to that, the places of worship and the Khai Ha ceremony are spacious and clean.
The opening ceremony of the new year is the opening activity of the festival season and is becoming a beautiful traditional feature that people in Thanh Chuong area participate in enthusiastically and respectfully.
However, in addition to encouraging the upgrading of relics and organizing festivals, the cultural sector and functional sectors in Thanh Chuong district are also trying to do a good job of management, combining the ceremony with cultural and sports activities, and folk games so that the Khai Ha ceremony in particular and other festivals are not commercialized./.
