As artificial intelligence (AI) is creeping into Vietnam, it is predicted that these will be the 5 industries with the most "explosive" prospects this year.

In the digital age, the role of artificial intelligence technology is indispensable. And when investors are actively pouring capital, the question is which industry will really explode with the support of artificial intelligence?

Here are five industries that promise to transform in the near future, according to Eduard Feliu Baena -Technology Expert at AnyMind Group.

Medicine

This is one of the first industries to apply artificial intelligence technology. There have been many studies and experiments taking place over the years. And recently, an artificial intelligence application product has been available in Vietnam when IBM cooperated with Five9.

IBM Watson for Oncology (WFO) is one of the solutions of IBM Watson for Health, applying artificial intelligence and cognitive computing technology to diagnosis and treatment options for hospitals.

Specifically, the WFO platform will synthesize medical documents, medical research and big data from more than 1 million cancer cases worldwide, and help doctors summarize the patient's condition and key medical characteristics, thereby suggesting the most appropriate cancer treatment regimen. In Vietnam, WFO has been piloted since August 2017 and will be tested in many hospitals in 2018.

Marketing advertising

Nowadays, users are gradually shifting their learning and entertainment from television and newspapers to the Internet, so digital advertising is naturally number 1 when Marketers plan their communications.

However, with a huge amount of data and countless new terms (buzzwords), bringing the brand to the right potential customers is a problem that more or less gives marketers a headache.

Since then, applications of AI technology have emerged, from Google's search engines, programmatic advertising to advanced techniques in natural language processing, information search and machine learning to help solve the problem of data analysis in a short time, detect fraudulent behavior as well as provide product and service suggestions based on user history.

In the Vietnamese market, Ogilvy and GroupM are the leading names while AdAsia Vietnam's platforms have also somewhat affirmed their position.

Finance

In recent years, automated investing platforms like Betterment and Wealthfront have attracted hundreds of thousands of investors, while brokerages like Bank of America and Wells Fargo have also entered the “robo-advice” market.

Morgan Stanley, the latest entrant in the market, has really turned up the heat. Its new online tool, Access Investing, is designed to appeal to millennials, including many wealthy families, and offers a wide range of options including ETFs, mutual funds and seven portfolios that cover themes including sustainability, gender diversity and the next wave of technology.

Self-driving cars

Xe tự lái

This race is extremely hot with the participation of most of the big names such as Audi, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen and even technology giants such as Google, Intel, Apple. In fact, Uber has also tested AI on the OTTO driverless truck line for interstate delivery in the US.

Currently, most self-driving car support systems use image sensors to avoid obstacles encountered while moving, but with limitless potential, creating self-driving cars that can think and act more is just a matter of time.

In Vietnam, FPT also successfully tested self-driving cars last October. Moreover, FPT Software has been implementing 150 projects for 20 customers in Japan, Korea, Europe and the US, promising to elevate the domestic and foreign automotive technology industry.

Recruitment

It is also an industry with a huge amount of data and an unstable supply-demand balance. Businesses that need to recruit cannot find suitable candidates, while candidates cannot find opportunities for themselves.

Now, when conventional recruitment solutions are no longer effective and take a lot of time and money, it is time to need an alternative, more effective and optimal recruitment solution. This is when the role of AI comes into play.

The application of AI in recruitment has been applied quite popularly in the world, most recently the event of Google launching a job search tool based on artificial intelligence or the platforms Pymetrics or HireVue that were previously used by Unilever.

And with its golden population, Vietnam promises to be a delicious cake for competitors, TalentMind of AnyMind Group is no exception. Social Media analysis techniques, candidate resumes and assessment questions will help businesses find suitable candidates, optimize their recruitment process, time and costs.
