Chelsea lost to MU, coach Conte is not convinced
In a post-match interview, coach Antonio Conte expressed his disappointment when Chelsea lost 1-2 to MU in the highlight match of round 28 of the Premier League.
In the trip to Old Trafford last night, Chelsea started well and took the lead in the 33rd minute thanks to midfielder Willian. However, "The Blues" disappointed when they lost 1-2. Romelu Lukaku (39') and Jesse Lingard (75') were the authors of 2 goals for MU.
This is Chelsea's third defeat in their last four matches in all competitions. This defeat has seen them drop to fifth place in the Premier League table with 53 points after 28 matches, two points behind Tottenham. Meanwhile, MU reclaimed second place from Liverpool with 59 points.
In an interview after the match, Coach Conte expressed his regret and disappointment when Chelsea lost to MU: "We are very disappointed with the final result of the match. Chelsea had a great opportunity to win 3 points against a direct competitor in the Top 4 but in the end, my students had to accept defeat.
When you have the advantage of leading, you have to control the game well. Hopefully, after this defeat, my students will learn from the experience and become more mature to avoid similar failures. I feel very disappointed about this."
With Man City trailing them by 19 points on the Premier League table (Chelsea have played one more game), Conte and his team have almost no chance of defending their title. Therefore, they are forced to focus on the FA Cup and Champions League. In the Premier League, the most realistic goal they can aim for is to enter the Top 4.
