Similar to the national high school exam, except for the Literature subject, which will be in essay form, the remaining tests will be objective multiple choice. The test is issued by the Hanoi Department of Education, with the same structure and difficulty level as the national high school exam. The scope of knowledge is from the 11th and 12th grade curriculum, but the content in grade 12 is the main one.
According to the Department of Education's instructions, students from central schools located close to each other will take the test in clusters. The results can be used as regular test scores (depending on the conditions of each high school), but the Department requires that "absolutely not be used as regular test scores according to regulations".
