Son-in-law jealous of father-in-law, set fire to house, injuring 3 people
Seeing his father-in-law sleeping in the same bed with his wife and stepchild, the 28-year-old man got jealous and set fire to his father-in-law.
On February 28, the Investigation Police Department of Tra Vinh Province Police took statements and consolidated the case file to prosecute Thach Se Tha (28 years old, residing in Ward 9, Tra Vinh City) for arson, causing 3 people to be burned.
Police said that on the evening of February 27, in Ward 9, an arson attack occurred, causing Mr. Kim My Lai (57 years old), his daughter Kim Thi Thanh Nha (30 years old) and his grandson Son Khai Ky (9 years old) to be burned and had to be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.

After that, Ms. Nha took her stepchild, Ky, to live with her biological father. On the evening of February 27, Tha went to Mr. Lai's house to find his wife. When he entered the house, he saw his father-in-law, his wife, and Ky sleeping in the same bed, so he became jealous.
Tha went out to the front of the house to get a plastic bottle to suck gasoline from the car, took a lighter and brought it into the bed to set it on fire, injuring all three.
This young man admitted that being jealous of his father-in-law was unreasonable but justified it: "My wife doesn't sleep with her husband but sleeps with her father-in-law, so she's jealous."
