The rosewood bed (called a bed in the north) when standing upright is as beautiful as a screen with its chun and tangled grain, and is considered "super" beautiful and rare. This bed weighs more than 3 tons, is 3.36m long, 2.72m wide and more than 20cm thick.

This unique wooden bed is currently on display at the Bac Ninh Exhibition Fair 2018, attracting a lot of attention from visitors.

Appearing at the Bac Ninh Exhibition Fair 2018, the Cam Lai wooden bed is attracting the attention of many tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong (Thuong Tin, Hanoi), a person who specializes in importing precious wood from South Africa to Vietnam, said: "For many years, I have imported Cam Lai wood by sea to Vietnam, but for me, this is a particularly precious wooden panel because of the size of the tree trunk as well as its rare and beautiful patterns."

When arriving in Vietnam, the wood is meticulously polished and ground by the craftsman, but the shape is still kept as it is in nature. "This block of wood is not as long as other rosewood panels, but it is very wide and the wood grain has very beautiful patterns, so when placed upright, it looks beautiful like a screen," Mr. Cuong shared.

According to the owner, the bed weighs more than 3 tons, is 3.36m long, 2.72m wide and more than 20cm thick with soft, tangled patterns. To transport this bed, Mr. Cuong had to use a 10-ton truck and mobilize many support staff.

Mr. Cuong said that this is the first time such a large rosewood bed has appeared in Vietnam. The rosewood bed is priced at more than 4 billion VND.

Rosewood is a precious wood, known for its beautiful grain and high durability, so it is very popular. This type of wood is often used to make high-end furniture such as tables, chairs, beds, cabinets, fine art or inlays with prices ranging from several million to several hundred million, even up to billions.

The older the wood, the larger the size, the more beautiful the pattern, the higher the price. Currently in Vietnam, there are not many ancient Cam Lai trees left and they are mainly imported from abroad.

The rosewood bed is said to be a thousand years old with beautiful surface patterns - evenly distributed grain and tangled grain. This is a piece of wood considered "super" rare in Vietnam because it is up to 2.72m wide.
