Strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Nghe An and Bolikhamxay (Laos) youth

At the meeting, on behalf of Nghe An youth, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Xuan Tiep thanked the attention of the Bolikhamxay Provincial Youth Union. At the same time, he affirmed that in 2017, promoting the tradition of solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries, the Bolikhamxay Provincial Youth Union and the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union had many practical and meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos, leaving many deep impressions on the youth of the two provinces. Currently, in Vinh city (Nghe An), there are over 340 Lao students studying at universities and colleges.

Following those activities, the Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union added that in April 2018, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union plans to have an exchange program between Nghe An youth and youth from neighboring Lao provinces that share a border with Nghe An.

Introducing the Youth Union movements of Bolikhamxay province in 2017, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Tha Nu Van Vong Ma Ny said the highlight was the ideal educational activities for youth union members, achieving 100% of the set criteria. In addition, models were also built to create playgrounds for youth union members such as foreign language clubs, volunteer clubs, etc.

In particular, every year, the Bolikhamxay Provincial Youth Union welcomes volunteer student groups from Nghe An, who have enthusiastically helped teach Vietnamese and English to Lao youth, as well as participated in building houses and repairing electricity and water for people in Bolikhamxay province.

The Deputy Secretary of the Bolikhamxay Provincial Youth Union also expressed his belief that in 2018, the two provincial youth unions will continue to become a sustainable "bridge", contributing to maintaining cooperation between the two countries in general, and the two provincial youth unions in particular.

At the meeting, the two sides also exchanged experiences to improve the quality of the work of the Union, Association and youth movement, emphasizing the role of youth in maintaining the relationship of solidarity, friendship and cooperation in building a stable and developed border area between Nghe An and Bolikhamxay province.
