The Russian President's revelation of new strategic weapons along with Russia's program to create multi-purpose UAVs is making the US worried.

In an interview with the Flotprom portal, Alexander Mochalkin, General Director of the research-production company “Setetsentricheskiye Platformy” revealed that his company is implementing promising projects for the Russian Navy.

The new Russian equipment complex can operate in the air, on land, on water and under water.

The company's experts have created a special robot complex that can walk or fly like a UAV, and can even dive underwater. This type of device has never appeared in the world and is planned to start testing in 2019, the company representative said.

Mr. Mochalkin noted that the main technical idea of this project is the integration of unmanned objects into one complex. In this case, the complex can move on the water surface, dive like a submarine and fly like a UAV.

This device will work by receiving synergistic signals. Currently all the work, related documents as well as design test models are ready.

Information about this new complex was also introduced at the exhibition of the Research and Experimental Robotics Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense. However, the actual production version will be further upgraded by experts so that they can land and run easily on water.

According to the representative of the research work of Moscow State University, Mr. Nevenlskogo Denis Burov, the appearance of this new device is fully consistent with the global development of multi-purpose systems. In this case, this complex will perform many different tasks at the same time and in many different environments.

This device can be used for reconnaissance, supplementing existing UAV units and enhancing the efficiency of communication, data transmission, and can even become an attack UAV.

As the Russian Navy actively modernizes its fleet, this complex will be one of the important pieces of the puzzle along with the new weapons program authorized by Russian President Vladimir Putin to further enhance the capabilities of the country's Navy.

Earlier, General Director Alexander Mochalkin spoke about the development of UAVs in Russia. He said that Russia has been researching and testing so that UAVs can fly in groups. During the flight, UAVs can exchange data with each other and follow a “leader” UAV.

Recall that in early March 2018 the Russian President revealed a number of new Russian weapons, and then the media revealed many new projects, among which the project on this multipurpose complex is one of them.

This move by Russia seems to have worried the United States. According to some sources, Democratic senators have called on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to propose to Russia to conduct dialogue on the issue of strategic stability.
