Pity the woman who struggles to support her sick husband and children
(Baonghean.vn) - With a sickly husband and an unusual temperament, Ms. Dinh Thi Lan in Hamlet 1, Nghia Minh Commune (Nghia Dan) is raising 3 children alone, including Le Van Hieu, over 2 years old, who has congenital thoracic stenosis.
For the past few years, Lan's family has been poor in the commune. Her husband is sick and has a bad temper, often leaving home. Her children are still young. Lan herself has no job, she does whatever people hire her to do every day, so the family's life is even more difficult when her son has thoracic stenosis.

Just after Tet, no one is hiring any jobs, so Lan’s family’s meal consists of only a plate of boiled vegetables and a bowl of fish sauce. The eldest daughter, Le Thi Thanh, 11 years old, shared: “I just hope to continue going to school, to study well so that I can build a house for my parents and have money to treat my younger sibling and father.”

Lan's family's house was dilapidated, with nothing of value inside. When asked about the family's situation, Lan said: From birth, Hieu developed normally, but when he was about 2 years old, he was sick all the time, with a fever of 39 or 40 degrees every few days, so she couldn't do anything. Her husband was not normal, and every few days he would leave home, and the family had to find him again.
The family was already poor, and now it was even more difficult because they had to take Hieu to get treatment. The little money she earned every day was only enough to buy rice and vegetables to feed the family of four, while Hieu's congenital chest wall disease was getting worse and worse, endangering his life.

Faced with the pitiful situation of Ms. Dinh Thi Lan, the Nghia Dan District Red Cross Society visited, encouraged and gave initial support gifts to help the family ease their difficulties. Along with that, the District Red Cross Society called on agencies, units and benefactors to join hands to share and help the family.
