Earlier, the Times newspaper published information, referring to a senior official in the British government, that the British side could consider the opportunity to carry out a secret cyber attack against Russia in response to the incident with former GRU colonel Sergei Skripal in Salisbury.

"The embassy officially requests the British Foreign Office to explain the threat of cyber attacks heard in parliament and the media, Russia takes violations in the field of cybersecurity very seriously," - the embassy wrote on Twitter.

British Prime Minister Teresa May said on Monday afternoon that it was “highly likely” that Russia was involved in the nerve agent attack on former GRU colonel Sergei Skripal, a Russian intelligence officer who had worked for British intelligence. May gave Russia until Tuesday night to explain the details, or she promised to take “serious measures” against Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called Theresa May's statement on Skripal "a circus show in the British parliament", and pointed out that the British side started an information and political campaign based on provocation.
