Through many recent cases of handling officials, it can be seen that the Party and State are determined to purify the government apparatus, not allowing individuals to degenerate and lose the assets of the people and the country.

Regarding the case of former Major General of the Public Security Nguyen Thanh Hoa, former Director of the Department of High-Tech Crime Prevention (C50 - Ministry of Public Security) being prosecuted and temporarily detained for his involvement in a transnational gambling ring worth thousands of billions of VND, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, a retired cadre in Ha Long city, said that this move demonstrates the Party's determination to deal with negative aspects in the Public Security force and the force that suppresses crime. Immediately stripping Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa of his title of People's Public Security is the right and necessary action to preserve the image of the Public Security Soldier in the hearts of the people.

Believing that the case of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa is just the beginning, and that many more officials who have committed wrongdoings will be brought to light, the retired official in Ha Long City hopes that the Party and the State will continue to reform the Public Security sector, so that the Public Security sector can truly be a tool to protect the law. The Party is not afraid of any individual or agency that seems “inviolable”, and people like him believe in that.

After many major cases of negativity and corruption were discovered and brought to trial recently, the Party's reputation has increased among the people. The discovery by the authorities of an international gambling ring led by a high-ranking police officer has made people believe more in the Party's determination to fight corruption; and believe that the Party and the State will strictly handle violators, regardless of their position, whether they are in office or retired.

Mr. Phan Manh Toan, a resident of Group 3, Nghia Duc Ward, Gia Nghia Town, Dak Nong Province, expressed his hope that the Party and State will continue to step up the fight against negative behaviors and law violations by corrupt officials to build a strong Party and State that respects the rule of law. After incidents like this, it will be a painful lesson for corrupt officials who have been, are being, and will be punished.

Mr. Ho Thang Trung (Hai Chau district, Da Nang city) said that a police major general "colluding" with gambling criminals is a sign of complete degeneration. As a citizen and a party member, the retired cadre suggested that individuals involved in this gambling and money laundering ring worth thousands of billions of dong must be strictly and resolutely punished because only by resolute punishment will people believe.

Through monitoring the anti-corruption work of the Party and State in recent times, Mr. Phan Quoc Nam, a Party member in Tra Vinh city (Tra Vinh province) expressed his confidence in the determination to thoroughly handle erring officials regardless of their rank or position.

Mr. Pham Van Thanh (in Ward 9, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) considers this a wake-up call for leaders, regardless of their position, if they have degraded morality or violated the law, they will be dealt with appropriately.

Mr. Le Duc Duong (on Lan Ong Street, Xuong Huan Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province) hopes that through incidents like this, those in positions of power will be deterred from plots to abuse their power and appropriate public assets. “Our Party and State have carried out the fight against corruption in a strong, systematic, and focused manner. Moving forward, we need to have a system to manage power and avoid abuse of power,” Mr. Le Duc Duong stated his opinion.

Mr. Nguyen Tho Dau (residing in Phuoc Trung ward, Ba Ria city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) expressed his excitement at the Party's new progress in anti-corruption work. He said that people like Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa were educated by the Party and had awareness, and those with high awareness must be severely punished, only then will people believe in the Party.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vien in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed the Party and State's drastic and resolute actions in eliminating corruption and abuse of power, and strictly handling them according to the law, regardless of who the individual or group is or how high their position is. From serious cases such as the AVG sale and purchase case, the gambling and money laundering case in Phu Tho, it can be seen that the Party and State are determined to purify the government apparatus, ensure the rights of the people, for the people, and not let individuals degenerate and lose the assets of the people and the country./.
