Russian Defense Ministry talks about US blocking the departure of people from Raqqa, Syria
The US-created "government" from the "Democratic Union of Northern Syria" is forcing people to stay in Raqqa and preventing them from leaving, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

The Defense Ministry noted that the situation of refugees returning is most difficult in Raqqa. More than 200,000 people from there are in territories controlled by the legitimate Syrian authorities. At least 100,000 people in Türkiye are in areas controlled by US-backed forces.
"The so-called 'government' that the US military established in Raqqa from the 'Democratic Alliance of Northern Syria' forced the local population to stay in Raqqa, in the area bombed by the US coalition, preventing them from moving to the safe zone of Syria," - the statement said.
"The great danger for the people of Raqqa is the numerous explosive devices and mines, more than 500 Raqqa residents have become victims of explosions," - the statement stressed.
