(Baonghean.vn) - With the policy of converting land and forming concentrated sugarcane cultivation areas, it has created conditions for people in Tan Ky district to apply mechanized production methods. Up to now, in the district, there have been 3,785 hectares of raw sugarcane planted and cared for by machines.

Tan Ky district has more than 6,000 sugarcane fields, providing raw materials for Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company. In recent years, the district has directed localities to actively convert land, creating conditions for people to intensively cultivate sugarcane on large fields.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Quy - Deputy Director of Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company, the current situation in rural areas is a lack of labor force, because children go to work far away, so in the past 3 years the Company has had a policy of supporting and encouraging sugarcane growers to invest in buying multi-purpose planting machines to intensify sugarcane cultivation, which is very necessary.

Up to now, in Tan Ky district, there have been 47 large-capacity multi-purpose sugarcane planting machines, of which 45 were invested by local people and 2 by Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company. With the above number of machines, it is capable of serving the land area that people have registered to plant sugarcane with the company, which is 3,785 hectares.

The results show that applying mechanization to intensive sugarcane cultivation has reduced human labor, accelerated the annual sugarcane planting progress, especially the sugarcane yield in areas planted by machines reached over 80 tons/ha, and sugarcane growers have really made a profit.

Mr. Quy added that when the concentrated sugarcane growing area accounts for a large part of the sugarcane raw material area of ​​the factory, Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company will invest in buying sugarcane harvesting and loading machines to serve the people, then sugarcane growers will have less difficulty in the sugarcane harvesting process.

However, to do this, local authorities need to promote land conversion and create large-scale concentrated sugarcane growing areas to meet the operating capacity of machines.
