Principal of My Luong Secondary School (Chuong My district, Hanoi) Tran Thi Yen has just been demoted for attending a ceremony during working hours.

Speaking to the press on the afternoon of March 20, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Chuong My district, Hoang Minh Hien, said that after a period of consideration, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the district had just signed a decision to demote Ms. Tran Thi Yen from principal to vice principal of My Luong Secondary School for going to Ba Chua Kho temple on the afternoon of Friday (March 2).

The district also issued a warning to a vice principal of the school. These decisions took effect from March 19.

With two other teachers accompanying him, Mr. Hien said, one teacher is under the school's jurisdiction, and the other is an IT teacher who is not under the school's direct management.

Previously, as reported, the incident involved 4 teachers of My Luong Secondary School, including principal Tran Thi Yen, vice principal and 2 other teachers.

On Friday afternoon (March 2), the school has a schedule for extra classes for students (not regular classes), but some teachers who live far away suggested changing the class schedule to Saturday afternoon so they can go home early.

Therefore, the school changed the schedule and notified parents and students. That afternoon, the four officials went to Ba Chua Kho Temple (Bac Ninh province).

Although there is no official school schedule, Friday afternoon is still a working day.

After the press reported, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Chu Xuan Dung signed a document to send to the People's Committee of Chuong My district regarding handling administrative discipline violations of My Luong Secondary School staff.

At the press conference of the City Party Committee on the afternoon of March 6, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department Tran Xuan Ha emphasized that the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department's viewpoint on violations such as using office hours or public vehicles to attend festivals or travel for personal purposes is something that needs to be strictly handled.

For party members and leaders, we must be exemplary in this./.
