History
According to Master Nguyen Viet Dang Du (Le Quy Don High School, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), determining the purpose of the exam is very important because it affects the content of the exam review. If choosing history in the social subjects group for graduation, students only need to focus on learning the basic knowledge mentioned in the textbooks of grades 11 and 12.
If choosing this subject for university admission, in addition to mastering basic knowledge, students need to master more general knowledge and advanced knowledge.
The content of the history subject is quite long and the multiple choice test questions are not focused and are spread throughout the program, so in order to grasp all the knowledge, students must build a reasonable review schedule. They should spend time before June to review the 12th grade history program and half of June to review the 11th grade history program.
When reviewing, it is necessary to have a firm grasp of basic knowledge. To do this, students must systematize their knowledge. Students can follow the review topics on Thanh Nien Newspaper and then develop their own mind maps.
Besides, it is necessary to practice the skills of comparison, synthesis, and connection while studying, because in reality, solving difficult questions for classification requires the use of these skills.
Geography
Mr. Tran Van Quang, a geography teacher at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), said that when reviewing, students must grasp the entire program, they cannot memorize like in an essay test. Students should note the following points:
After each lesson, answer small questions, paying attention to key details, for example: What direction is the Northeast mountainous region? What are the two offshore archipelagos of our country? Create a mind map for each lesson, each chapter, with the main features first. Pay attention to the relationships between geographical objects such as how climate affects terrain, rivers, organisms, etc.; what advantages does the location have in terms of economic development, national security, etc.
Study in parts and study evenly, avoid studying in bulk, it is tiring, long and difficult to be effective. In the evening, you should review the lesson you just studied during the day for about 5-10 minutes. In addition, an effective way to study for the exam is to study on the Atlas combined with textbook lessons, pay attention to charts and places on the map.
Civic Education
From the format of the national high school exam, teacher Vu Thi Bich Thuy, Head of the Civic Education Group at Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), said that students need to supplement more practical knowledge, think thoroughly and carefully before choosing answers for situations.
Students should participate in solving situations in class to gain more experience in living and working according to the law. Refer to more books, newspapers, and legal documents. If you have any questions, ask your teachers for advice. Keep a notebook to record what you hear, see, and learn from life around you related to the law, as well as advice and notes from teachers to review when you have time to increase your knowledge and do well on the exam.
When reviewing, knowledge can be distributed according to the following topics: some basic issues of law; law and citizens' equality; law with citizens' freedoms and democracy; law with the development of citizens and the country.
