US general admits there is no means to counter Russia's hypersonic weapons
The United States has nothing to counter Russia's hypersonic weapons, Chairman of the Strategic Command of the US armed forces John Hayten stated at a hearing of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services on March 20.

The general said the US has no means of protection from hypersonic weapons.
"We have no protection that can prevent the use of this weapon against us," - Business Insider quoted Mr. Hayten as saying.
At the same time, he noted that the only defense against such weapons is "the threat of nuclear retaliation."
"We will respond with our defense forces, including the nuclear capabilities we have to respond to such threats," he said.
