(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 21st, the Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Chau district handed over a solidarity house to the family of Ms. Cao Thi Mai, a poor household in Hamlet 5, Dien An commune.

Mai's family circumstances are extremely difficult. Her husband passed away two years ago after a long battle with lung cancer. She has to raise two children, care for her elderly mother, and work to earn money to pay off the debt incurred for her husband's medical treatment. Despite her own illness, she still has to collect scrap metal every day.
The house she is living in is severely dilapidated, leaking, and could collapse at any moment. Given this situation, the Fatherland Front Committee of the district and Dien An commune have called on everyone to join hands in helping her family have a sturdy house.
In October 2017, construction of the house began with a total cost of 120 million VND, of which the Fatherland Front Committee of the district and commune contributed 23 million VND, the Dien An Commune Association in Taiwan contributed 10 million VND, and the rest was donated by the family, relatives, and local people.
