Actor Tran Hanh was specially considered for the title of People's Artist.
The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports highly appreciated the actor's contributions and proposed him for special treatment by the Superior Council.
The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has put artist Tran Hanh under special consideration based on his profile reported by the Hanoi Drama Theater - the actor's former employer.After retiring in 1989, he continued to work in the arts, participating in many feature films and television shows.
"Overcoming his own and his family's difficult circumstances and conditions, Meritorious Artist Tran Hanh has contributed a lot to art. His roles have a widespread influence, and at the same time, he is an artist with a proper image in life," the Department representative shared.
A person awarded the title of People's Artist must have at least 20 years of experience, have been awarded the title of Meritorious Artist for 5 years or more, and have been awarded at least two gold prizes or one gold prize and two silver prizes at national, regional or international art festivals and performances and at Central literary and art associations since being awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
People's Artist Minh Hoa - Deputy Director of Hanoi Drama Theater - said:"Artist Tran Hanh has just won a Dedication Award (equivalent to a Gold Award) at the 2010 National Television Festival. However, my unit enthusiastically defended the artist when proposing his case to the Department. Although he did not have enough medals as required, Tran Hanh has made many contributions on stage. In particular, his roles on television left a deep impression on the audience. He is completely worthy of the title of People's Artist," Ms. Minh Hoa shared.
At the age of 89, the artistTran HanhHe lives with his son and his wife in a small house near Tran Quy Cap station, Hanoi. More than 10 years ago, his son had an accident that resulted in brain damage and has only recovered for about three years. Every day, the artist helps his daughter-in-law sell goods. He cooks for himself and travels by motorbike.
Two other faces of Hanoi Drama Theater -Justice, Thu Ha- were also proposed to be considered for the title of People's Artist this time.
